We surprised my dad with a 50th birthday party. We thought it was an opportune time to surprise him since it’s one of the biggest milestones he’ll have in his lifetime. The preparations were crazy! I was still working then so I couldn’t help out my mom as much. We invited his former colleagues and friends whom he have not seen for years. The weekend of his birthday, he flew back to Singapore and I secretly took a half-day off from work on a Thursday to make the finale arrangements with the hotel and order his custom-made birthday cake.
To make planning easier, we told my dad we would be attending someone else’s birthday party at the Amara. When we got there and he saw the banner and all his friends, the look on his face was just fantastic.

Of course, I had to have the band perform! Yeah, I sang a song.. but it’s better no one took a video of that! Lol.
I loved the cake so much I took A LOT of pictures with it.
Everyone had a fantastic time and we are just so glad everything went according to plan. =) Now what I need to worry about is planning my mom’s 50th birthday party, well at least I have two more years to plan for that!
